Sarah's Purpose Statement: Unveiling Her "Why" as a Therapist
I have always wanted to help people and my original first thought when I thought of helping people was actually to be a nurse or a doctor. As I was exploring the idea I quickly found out that I faint at the sight of blood so that particular career was not the right fit for me. I was then introduced to the counseling program where I found my passion, interest, and drive to continue to grow and learn. I have always had an interest in how the brain reacts, processes, and changes to different events such as with trauma, anxiety, depression, and even addiction. -Sarah Bunch, LPCC-S

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at my Experience as a Therapist
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) employs bilateral eye stimulation, mirroring the REM sleep pattern, to aid in trauma processing. What's remarkable about this technique is its versatility—it extends beyond trauma treatment to address various symptoms like anxiety, navigating challenging situations, and even grief. Personally, I find great satisfaction in using ART, witnessing its profound positive impact on clients across different contexts.

A Memorable Success Story
During trauma treatment with a client using ART, they transitioned from a habit of biting or picking at their fingernails to refraining entirely from such behaviors. -Sarah
Maintaining Balance: How I Prioritize Well-Being to Serve Clients, Myself, and My Family
I apply the same principles I teach my clients. Establishing clear boundaries enables me to switch off after work, prioritizing my family and self-care. Daily, I ensure to take a lunch break and cultivate self-awareness. Moreover, I dedicate time each day to engage in activities promoting my own self-care. To decompress at day's end, I indulge in audiobooks during my commute home. This ritual serves as a buffer, allowing me to transition from work mode to family time seamlessly. -Sarah, LPCC-S
