Hi! I'm Michele Durkalski, LPCC
I am currently immersing myself in the natural beauty of Kentucky, learning to identify its native plants and trees. An avid reader, I find every book I encounter to be my favorite, each offering a gateway to new worlds. As a mother to three wonderful adults and three lively fur grand-babies, I cherish my time nurturing life, whether it's tending to my garden or dancing barefoot on the grass. My happiest moments are spent in the tranquility of the woods, exploring and discovering the magic in the world around me.

Michele's Purpose Statement: Unveiling Her "Why" as a Therapist
I want my clients to feel seen and heard. We all struggle at times and through those struggles we often lose sight of our values, our good intentions and our sense of self. I believe that unconditional positive regard is the most important principle of an effective counselor. I believe the first step toward balance is awareness and education. I embrace a variety of tools and strategies to help my clients learn and then practice coping skills that are effective in a variety of environments.Â

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at my Experience as a Therapist
I use square breathing before each session and send loving kindness to another after every session. I strive to always give unconditional positive regard. This is seeing another person with acceptance and support where they are. For me it means really listening and leading with empathy. -Michele Durkalski, LPCC

Having decades of experience as a therapist, I've had the honor of helping hundreds of people find healing and a greater quality of life. Client’s often find me long after they have graduated from treatment and love to see them THRIVE! Knowing the impact I've had on helping others find their way brings me great joy. -Michele
Maintaining Balance: How I Prioritize Well-Being to Serve Clients, Myself, and My Family
I have a morning yoga practice and in the warmer months I walk 3 miles before work three days a week. I look for the beauty in everything and take breaks often for adventure. - Michele Durkalski, LPCC
