Hi! I'm Avery Rich, LPCA
I know for some clients going to therapy can be daunting but therapists can also have those nervous butterflies when meeting with clients! Therapists deal with negative thinking patterns, second guessing ourselves, and embarrassment too. -Avery
Avery's Purpose Statement: Unveiling Her "Why" as a Therapist
I have always felt drawn to connect with people. During my time obtaining my Bachelor's degree I explored a wide variety of careers that I thought might resonate with who I am as a person. One day after much soul searching I was able to make the life changing decision to work on becoming a therapist. Throughout my journey of learning more about the world of mental health I found myself being able to make personal connections and reflections on the material that I was taking in which only solidified the thought that I was meant to do this type of work. Connecting with my client's and getting to watch them take control of their mental health offers me the inspiration to continue to improve myself and reinforce how important these types of services are. -Avery Rich, LPCA

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at my Experience as a Therapist
I have found that I tend to lean more towards a CBT approach. I feel like that is where as a therapist I can really shine and help my clients to the best of my ability. This technique really allows the client to break down their symptoms and start to create an understanding of what their mind and body is feeling and responding to. -Avery Rich, LPCA
A Memorable Success Story
I don't think I could highlight only one success story. To me clients showing up to the first session is a success in of itself. My goal is to get clients to a point where they feel empowered and awed that they are at the end of their journey with me. I have had clients who have been in mental services for an extended period of time with multiple different providers and assisting them in getting to that point of conclusion will continue to be the favorite part of my career. -Avery
Maintaining Balance: How I Prioritize Well-Being to Serve Clients, Myself, and My Family
It is definitely a learning process and I believe something that you have to continually be comfortable with adjusting. Some weeks may be harder or easier than others therefore you may feel like you need more or less self-care time set aside. Being more of an introvert I absolutely have to make sure I get my alone time at home. During that time I enjoy reading, watching tv, or shopping. When my social battery has recharged you can find me snuggling with my dog, spending time with my husband or my family. -Avery, LPCA
